Senior Therapist The Lygon Arms, The Lygon Arms, High Street, , Broadway, Worcestershire, WR12 7DU

Aim of the role

To assist the spa operations whilst being responsible for all therapists and treatments carried out within the spa.

The position is a job share with the other senior therapist role.


  • Responsible for the smooth operation of the treatments.
  • To take ownership, co-ordinate and ensure that all Therapists are correctly trained and inducted in line with company specifications.
  • Follow correct management procedures with regards to Therapists where required
  • To ensure team unity, teamwork and correct job performance is carried out by all Therapists.
  • To assist the Spa Operations Manager with new promotions and events and to assist in the hosting and organisation of these events, understanding teamwork and flexibility.
  • To keep a tight control on professional & retail stock, ensuring that orders are correct and made at the correct time and each has a correct purchase order.
  • To be respectful and build a working relationship with product houses and relaying relevant information to spa Operations manager.
  • Will be responsible for completing VIP treatments to journalists and Guests.
  • To be confident in developing and maintaining sales summaries, statistics and incentives, liaising with the Spa Operations Manager and reporting back to the therapist team.
  • To be confident and fully conversant with every treatment, product and facility in the Spa.
  • To take pride in being fully aware of all the services and facilities offered in the hotel
  • To ensure that products are sold in the correct way in the most profitable manner.
  • To be available to give treatments throughout the allotted times on the rota.
  • To be confident that all guests are greeted in the correct manor and aftercare procedures are followed.
  • Cover Spa Reception if required understanding teamwork and flexibility.
  • Perform daily and weekly treatment room checks to ensure standards are maintained throughout.
  • Check the daily programme ensuring therapist team are prepared for events.
  • When necessary carry out the therapist morning meeting and attend the hotel morning meeting and communicate back to the spa team.
  • To take ownership and prepare and carry out a monthly therapist meeting and send an appropriate email of minutes to those who have not attended.
  • To ensure that the Company Policy and standards are upheld at all times.
  • Complete rota so that therapists always have 5 weeks of rota prepared.
  • Complete TIA ensuring the clock ins and out are accurate and correct, holidays are tracked and in line with operations needs and return to work are completed
  • Ensure staff 1,3 and 12 months appraisals are completed
  • Follow up with maintenance issues
  • Ensure a yearly trade test is organised for all therapists with Spa management
  • Respectfully assign therapists tasks during their free time and follow up on their completion
  • Take pride in ensuring all therapists follow grooming standards policy
  • Ensure procedures are in place so that all areas used by therapists are clean
  • Ensure all new products prices are correctly input in the system
  • To ensure a handover is given between senior therapists and information is understood.
  • All staff should be confident in understanding and executing the company’s policies and procedures with respect to privacy, confidentiality and data protection.
